• A “Cruise-in” will be held 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Car Pros Plaza, 103 Trolley Road in Summerville (at the corner of Trolley and Miles roads). Car Pros Plaza owner John Mulherin is inviting Charleston area hot-rod, muscle car and classic car owners to the event. It will take place in conjunction with the grand opening of Car Pros Plaza, which claims to be the first of its kind to co-locate Meineke, Maaco and Econo Lube franchise services under one roof. Mulherin and his managers will inspect cars, awarding a trophy and prize recognition to the individual with the most distinctive and memorable car as judged by Car Pros Plaza executives. • The “Proud to be an American” Car Show with Beer and BBQ Tasting will take place 6-9 p.m. at Smoky Oak Taproom, 1234 Camp Road on James Island. Tickets are $25, which includes entry to the car show, beer and barbecue. There also will be live music. The first 70 cars to sign up can show. There’s no fee to enter. The event is a benefit for the Anchors Away Program, a nonprofit organization that helps re-integrate disabled veterans and civilians into the community through the use of watersports. • Southern Mustang and Ford will hold its monthly car show 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hooters restaurant by Northwoods Mall in North Charleston. Registration is $10 a car. Shows are scheduled for the third Saturday of the month through September. For more information, visit www.smafclub.com .

• Palmetto Cruisers will present the Farmers Festival Car Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Lake City.

Wednesday

• Charleston-Lowcountry Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America will host its monthly car show 6-8:30 p.m. at Joe Bessingers Bar B Que on College Park Road in Summerville. Registration is $10. Classes include Corvettes; imports; motorcycles; Mustangs; street rods; trucks; and cars for years 1900-55, 1956-65, 1966-75 and 1976-present, For more information contact Jim or Kay at 843-821-3271.

Friday- June 25

• The 1st Dillon Frisbie Memorial car show will be held at Citadel Mall. The show will include food, live entertainment and a car wash. Registration is 8 a.m.-11 a.m. Saturday with judging to follow and the trophy awards at 3 p.m. A cruise-in will be held 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Friday from King Street Grille at Citadel Mall to the King Street Grille at Northwoods Mall. A party will follow. The events are in memory of Dillon Frisbie, who died in an auto accident in January. Dillon and his father Fred Frisbie collected a number of classic cars. Since his death, the Frisbie Road Run Car Club was started. The show will benefit the Dillon Frisbie Foundation to establish a scholarship fund at the high school he attended, First Baptist School. I agree that properly user Labor substitution is not a wrong thing to do. My employer had an approved labor and the guy had left so he used it for me since it is the same position skills etc. By the way, I have been in the US since 2000 and had not applied till 2005. So it is a valid thing to do if not abused. As to those cases where they paid money to get the labor sub done, I agree it is unethical. The opposition is strong. But if we are to succeed, we need to work together. IV work is not easy. Takes time, commitment and money. Lots of people have been trying to do it for a long long time now. But circumstances and uncertainty/unpredictability associated with the legislature and governmental agency(ies) have always been the deterrent for IV's success. This constant pestering about filling up our profiles totally pisses me off. What exactly is the idea? That a person who is not waiting for a GC can't post in these forums? What if you are not even interested in GC? Or what if you are already a US citizen? Or may be just somebody happily living in Timbuctoo, and visiting these forums just for social networking? Is this site out of bound for them?
