Gears Of War 3 Leaked Onto Torrent Sites With Spoilers Intact
The entire single-player campaign of Gears of War 3 and some of the multiplayer, has been leaked onto torrent sites. Any rational person would probably question how the heck an unfinished build of Gears of War 3 gets on a torrent site, but its there nonetheless.According to VG 24/7 , the build that was leaked is an incomplete developers build. Late beta, more than likely. Nevertheless, unless you have a debugged Xbox 360 you wont be playing the torrented version of the game, so feel free to waste 10 or so gigabyte of hard drive space just for the heck of it. Im sure your ISP will love that.
Anyway, the only real downside to this scenario is that if someone manages to complete the game (unfinished as it may be) they can easily post walkthroughs, potential cheats and tons of spoilers up before any other site or printed guide, allowing them to earn some pretty big hits from the search engines. Assuming Google Panda allows for that.
Regardless, the leak shouldnt hurt Epic Games too badly considering that no one out there who uses torrents has a debugged Xbox 360 and even if they did all they could do is play the game for the sake of writing online spoilers. For consumer purists, this means that Gears 3 should still be fairly safe when September rolls around and this is more of a "heads-up" article than a "look out, the bullspit has hit the fan" article.
