SOE Set to Make PlanetSide 2 Announcement
And the official PlanetSide 2 website is now live, featuring a countdown clock that jives with SOE's promise of an upcoming announcement.
As far back as 2009, news of a PlanetSide sequel began to leak, and in January SOE President John Smedley confirmed that codename PlanetSide Next is in development. And after SOE closed three studios and laid off more than 200 employees in late March, Sony announced it was reorganizing to "focus development resources on delivering two new MMOs based on its renowned PlanetSide and EverQuest properties."
