William J. McMahon Jr.
MIDDLEBORO — William J. McMahon Jr., aged 86 years, lifelong resident of Middleboro, died on Wed., June 22, 2011, at Nemasket Health Care Center, Middleboro. He was the husband of the late Joan E. (Boudrot) McMahon, who predeceased him on September 24, 1983.
Born in Middleboro, he was the son of the late William J. and Lauretta M. (Benjamin) McMahon. He was a graduate of Middleboro High School, class of 1943, and a graduate of Boston College, class of 1950. He served in the United States Navy, during WWII, in the Aleutian Islands. He was a retired permit engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Works, where he worked for many years.
He was communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Middleboro. He was past commander and life member of the American Legion Post #64, Middleboro, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2188, Middleboro, and the Middleboro Lodge of Elks #1274.
He vacationed regularly in West Palm Beach, FL, and enjoyed dancing and music.
Survivors include a son, Lawrence W., and his wife, Pamela McMahon of Reading; two daughters, Nancy J. and her husband, Cliff Chausse of Lakeville, Linda A. and her husband, Doug Mann of Freetown; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Fri. June 24th in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St., Middleboro from 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sat., June 25th at 10 am in Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre St., Middleboro. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Middleboro.

While he is slightly gringe worthy, I always look very closely at pictures of him trying to find any clue that he shares some part of the gene pool with Mr McMahon. I don’t mean to cast aspersions on his parentage, but how did that from Mr McMahon? His mother is/was a good looking woman, but seriously…. I would have to disagree with you there. I clearly remember seeing William McMahon on TV on many occasions as well as seeing pictures of him at all stages of his life. It is very clear in my memory that there is next to no similarity between them at all. I guess this is something that we are going to have to agree to disagree on. All I can say is that he got all of his looks genes from him Mum. And Julian was born well before he was 60. Speaking of mercury retro…………….. the biggest horror of all uni students has happened to me and my computer completely karked it. Mother board is too expensive to replace. At least the hard drive is OK and files can be recovered…………..but need funds!!!!!!!! And am currently on my usual bi-monthly phone call to bigpond about my email or internet connection. Anyone have any ideas on how to get out of their contract? I’ve looked at it and because they have supplied equipment and the lines are ok, it’s just the bloody fluctuations amd straight out failures that are regularly happening. Can anyone help? I’m practically desperate to go back to my local supplier who I had for 10 years without any problems whatsoever.
