The show began with an introduction from Justin Roberts. He went through the CM Punk issues and that the WWE/Punk had reached an agreement for non-televised events. Punk came out and cut a promo. It was very similar to the one from the conclusion of MNR two weeks back in Vegas. He garnered a lot of heat from the crowd (as well as cheers from his supporters like me!). Again they cut his mic. 3. Evan Bourne beat Jack Swagger. Swagger got huge heat. Very good match. The crowd really got behind Evan. He really needs more TV time. He has amazing in-ring abilities and has a WOW factor that keeps everybody interested. Evan picked up the win after hitting Air Bourne. Post-Match Swagger was booed out of the building. Easily the biggest heat of the night so far. The Miz then came out to cut a promo. The crowd was 50/50. Quite a few anti-Miz people amongst the crowd, but there was just as many supporters. Awesome promo. He took a couple of subtle jabs at CM Punk. "Really?" and "What?" chants broke out in a big way and Miz fed off of it. Every time Miz put the mic to his mouth to let out his catchphrase, the crowd yelled "What?" which prompted some back and forth interaction with the crowd. The promo ended after Miz made it clear that he had the mic and could be louder then everybody else. He also pointed out the we were his puppets and he our puppeteer. Kelly Kelly returned to the ring for a WWE Universe dance contest. There were four contestants. The winner got to meet the WWE Superstar/Diva of their choice. As expected in this PG-Era, the kid won. When asked by Justin who he would like to meet, he said Kane. They asked him who from Raw he wanted to meet and he said Orton (BTW the kid had a Mysterio mask on). Justin made a joke about him being a SD fan and hinted towards the sound crew where Tony Chimel was... Although we couldn’t see him? Justin whispered something in the kids ear and then he said he wanted to meet John Cena. 5. David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty beat Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov. Average match. A couple of botched moves, however Santino was hilarious. He really got the crowd pumped up and was really into it. The crowd loved Santino and chanted "Cobra" all match. Perhaps the 2nd biggest pop so far went to Santino, behind Rey. Nexus picked up the win to retain the titles after a double-team. 6. Dolph Ziggler beat Kofi Kingston to retain the United States Title. These guys went at it last year for the IC Title.

Finding fiction that uses realist details from the world of science is difficult. I purchased The Cobra Event for my classroom library so that my science-minded students would have access to scientifically grounded fiction. An added bonus is some good information about DNA, the work of the CDC, and a glossary of scientific terms Preston includes at the end.

My husband asked for lots of books on genetics for his birthday this year. He just wants to learn about DNA, recent developments in genetic coding, etc. Amongst a pile of other books I found for him, I bought him 'The Stuff of Life: A graphic guide to genetics and DNA' by Mark Schultz. Although skeptical at first (graphic? as in comic book????), he LOVED the book, found the graphics really consolidated the learning. So, while not a novel, your science buff students might really enjoy it.
