Maui Invitational Music Festival to present Jazz and Blues Fest
The leader of the band is well-known tuba player Lisa Owen â also the leader of five other bands â who started this group in 1988. There are still three original members in the group: Jimmy Coulter on drums, Owen and Mickey Felipe on the banjo. The other two members are Jerry Eisenberg (clarinet) and John Zangrando (tenor sax). For this festival, the High Seas Dixieland Band will be joined by Steve Sargenti, an accomplished freelance musician. Jones combines the skills of guitarist, drummer, vocalist and songwriter. He played for many years with blues legend Michael Bloomfield. Dorothy Betz and Les Adam co-wrote much of the orchestraâs original material and contribute their excellent vocals to the mix, along with Adamsâ killer keys.
