Police Offer Free VIN Auto Etching
The Arlington County Police Department is inviting citizens, military personnel and their families to a free auto theft deterrence event on Friday, June 10, on Fort Myer. At the event, car owners can have their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) etched into their exterior windows.This event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Fort Myer Commissary Parking Lot, (Joint Base Myer – Henderson Hall) at 523 Carpenter Road, Fort Myer. Participants must provide at least one of the following: valid Driver’s license, I.D., passport, CAC card or Government ID to gain access to the installation. The VIN etching process is being provided free of charge by the Arlington County Police Department, the Virginia State Police HEAT (Help Eliminate Auto Theft) Program and the FMMC Police Department.
